The village Mora in the middle of Sweden has been famous for its fine knives since the 1600s, and probably even earlier. Firmly anchored in this long tradition of craftsmanship, Erik Frost founded the first knive factory in Mora in 1891. He succeeded in combining the advantages of hand-forged blades and industrial manufacture. The result was a knife with a comfortable handle and a very sharp and robust blade. A knife from Mora, a Morakniv, became the standard for knives in Scandinavia.

Job description

Today, approximately two thirds of our sales is outside Scandinavia and we are always cooperating with local agents or distributors, in some cases directly with retailers.

Our company culture is straight forward and down to earth. We take care of our people and we want to build long lasting relationships with our customer. You will be part of the Market & Sales team of Morakniv.  

Primary responsibilities:

  • Together with the Global Sales & Marketing Director you will develop long term strategies for different markets, segments, customers and products in the region.
  • Improve and increase business with existing customers as well as finding new markets and customers.
  • Locates or proposes potential business deals by contacting existing or potential customers and partners; discovering and exploring opportunities.
  • Visit and exhibit at Exhibitions and Tradeshows in the region, both B2B and B2C.
  • Plan and implement own events as well as participate in events, both B2B and B2C.
  • Be part of our Sales Team and work closely with the Global Sales & Marketing Director and the Customer Service department in Sweden.
  • Well informed about competitors as well as trends within the different segments we are active in.

 

Experience

  • Experience from sales and marketing and/or business development and experience from B2B-sales is a must
  • You have experience of developing business through distributors and agents.
  • You have a good understanding of the Eastern Europe and Russian business culture.
  • You have a relevant education, preferably with a commercial specialization.
  • Good track record from building and maintaining networks and stable long-term relationships.
  • General technical understanding of products and manufacturing-processes.
  • Fluent in English, Russia and preferably Polish and German

To be successful you have to be easy going and able to build personal relationships. You are passionate about doing business, you are creative, taking initiatives and like to meet new people. You are motivated and effective despite setbacks. You keep working until the mission is completed and results achieved.

Additional Information

Location: Prague, Czech Republic or close proximity to an international airport. This position will require frequent travelling, primarily in the Region as well as periodic travels.

to the Morakniv office and factory in Mora, Sweden.  Primarily sales region will be Eastern Europe and Russia, but potential support in Europe as well. The role will report directly to the Global Sales & Marketing Director. You will be based from home.
